About us – The story behind diiszwii
We are diiszwii — and we want to change the way you enjoy sweets forever.
Two friends. One kitchen. The conviction that indulgence and conscious nutrition don't have to be a contradiction — and a date that proves it.
The story behind the dates
It started with a simple question: Why do sweets have to contain refined sugar?
Jacqueline and Stefan — two friends with a big vision and an even bigger love for cooking — set out to find an honest answer. They found the solution in dates: a natural product that is naturally sweet, rich in caramel, and incredibly versatile.
What began as an experiment in a small Swiss kitchen is now a growing range of handmade sweets under the name Barohni — loved by health-conscious individuals, sweet tooths, and everyone in between.
Our Values
- Naturalness first: Only ingredients you truly recognize on an ingredient list go into our products. No refined sugar, no preservatives, no artificial flavors.
- Handmade in Switzerland: Every Barohni praline is personally handcrafted by us in Schlieren — not by a machine.
- Plant-based and gluten-free: Our products are for everyone — whether plant-based, gluten intolerant, or looking for an honest snack.
- Tangible sustainability: Our packaging is partly made from grass paper — a renewable raw material that significantly reduces the consumption of virgin fibers.
Who is behind it?
Jacqueline Seiler is responsible for recipes, product development, and everything related to taste. She develops new recipes, tests ingredients, and keeps trying until a Barohni praline is truly perfect.
Stefan Kalberer ensures that everything runs smoothly behind the scenes — from ordering to delivery, from logistics to strategy.
Together we believe: Those who know what's in it enjoy more consciously. And those who enjoy consciously, enjoy more.
We are divorced.
Why "diiszwii"?
Perhaps you're wondering: How do you actually pronounce that?
The answer: "disizwee" – Swiss German for the two others
The name represents the two of us, Jacqueline & Stefan, the founders of diiszwii. Two people who share a passion for honest enjoyment and have built a small manufactory from it. For us, "diiszwii" is more than just a name – it's a promise: cohesion, joy, and sustainable indulgence.
The Future
Our journey began in 2019 – and it's just getting started.
With our Vision 2030, we aim to build a brand that stands for modern, honest, and sustainable enjoyment.
By then, we want to reach even more people who seek conscious enjoyment – and show that even small businesses can make a big difference: for society, for nature, for you.
